The Air We Breathe
Zoë’ has a Master’s in Creative Practice, and her work is strongly influenced by the ecological and environmental changes along Rivers and coastlines, particularly seasonal changes within the landscape.
Her work is a symbolic representation, and she uses traditional artist’s materials alongside handmade earth pigments that are foraged from the depicted painting's location. Her work captures an emotional response through colour and a complex layering process, combined with organic paint and the application of brush strokes and texture.
This work is a collaborative art installation and was part of a project for the artist’s Master's at Harrogate College. The circles represent a pollution molecule to symbolise our polluted cities through fossil fuels from the influx of cars in highly populated environments, including the detrimental effects on the health of humans and other living and non-living creatures.
The installation was first installed outside on Earth Day 22nd April 2022 for one day at the bottom of Montpellier Hill, Harrogate.
This collaborative work brings art and poetry together enabling reflection upon the earth's plight.
